Been reading about almost ten years since Angela Merkel the famous phrase wir schaffen das. Which translates to more or less. We work on it. I was living in Düsseldorf from 2014 to February 2015, a few months before the migration started that year.
One of the most interesting documentaries I have seen is from ZDF. “Wir schaffen das” – 5 Jahre danach It shows how the migrates learnt the language, how they integrated into Germany. It discusses the degree of success after five years from Merkel’s statement.
We are now in 2024, almost ten years since that moment.
Manchmal finde ich meine Meinung auf meiner Seite in Düsseldorf. Ich bin ein bisschen ein Junge, aber jetzt denke ich, es war eine entspannte Zeit und ich habe zu viel gelernt. Diese Jahr ich ein bisschen Lust noch zurück in Deutschland gehen.
